Obscure Holiday
I had to make a greeting card for an obscure holiday in September. Talk Like a Pirate Day happened to be one of the obscure holidays so I went forth and conquered. We had to print our illustration on cards and create a logo for the holiday on the back.

Illustration / Spring 2010 Final
I had to convey a designated emotion under the restrictions of a set horizon line (6" from the bottom.) The emotion I was assigned was "bitchiness." I had two layers to this project, one was the basic illustration and coloring, the other was a 3D addition that was set on a clear plastic piece of paper and attached to the top in order to switch between 3D and 2D.

The Man With No Name
This was a project I did on my own accord. It is a triptych of Clint Eastwood in The Man With No Name series. These illustrations were done in the winter of 2009 and entered into a scholarship show at UConn.

Famous People + Their Pets
An illustration assignment where I had to take an specific character from history and pair them with an animal that most represented their personality. I was give Joseph Stalin, and I chose for him a wolverine, due to the fact that he was an aggressive, ill-spirited man with a foul temper and mean streak. I juxtaposed Stalin's stoicism with the temper of a wolverine to show how Stalin wished to be portrayed versus who he actually was.

Metanoia Poster 2009/2010
My illustration class is subject to a poster contest, which changes themes each year. This year happened to be UConn Metanoia, which is a movement during the month of October to raise awareness about women's safety and bring to light the undertones of sexual assault on campus. My poster was one of about 20 others that were juried and chosen to be used for the October 2010 Metanoia and the posters will be displayed on October 14th, 2010 in an exhibition. Pictures of the exhibition to come.

RAAB Prize 2010
Along with a poster contest, my class also participated in a Children's Magazine contest known as the RAAB Prize. A single poem (this year it was "Chickens on Parade" written by Jane Yolen for the magazine Cricket) along with a full page spread filled with specs and magazine-specific boundaries is given to the whole class. We had to come up with our own way of representing this poem, and I chose to do mine through the use of sculpey.

Peace Corps 50th Anniversary
Topics of Illustration 2010 had to design a poster for the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps. We were allowed to go in any direction we wanted; I chose to create a tattoo, place it on different people, and take pictures. These photos, with accompanying text, became the final poster.
